Easter Time Fun

Riley was able to finally color eggs this year and it was so much fun. I wished we could have done 3 dozen since it went so fast. We got a bit creative with our colors and everyone was involved. I love this second picture of Riley- he was having a blast.
Easter morning after I got home from work, the Easter Bunny made a secret visit to our house and evidently snuck out the back door. He left Riley's basket in the Sun Room. He was very excited to see the treats that the Easter Bunny left him.
I wish we could have been with everyone during the holiday-we miss and love you all.

Big Boy Bed Update

Riley has been in his own bed for 7 days now and is doing remarkably well. That first night he slept in his bed until about 0530!!! He tends to get up about 5-6 and comes down to our bed. Him navigating the stairs in the night was a major concern for us, but after the first night and seeing him come down the stairs without problem was a relief.
Last night he came down a bit early. His bedroom is right above ours, so we can hear when he gets out of the bed and starts moving around. It was taking him a long time to get downstairs last night. Justin ended up meeting him in the living room. Riley had a bucket of toys and all of his "babies" (his Roxie, Rexie, Puppy and Blackie)--toting them along. It was actually quite funny.
This step into his own bed as been an adjustment for me more than him I think. It sounds terrible, but I really miss cuddling with Riley at bedtime and our normal rituals. He is the most amazing child ever (I know, every mom says that!). He surprises us with something new everyday. I am grateful for my beautiful family!!!

Big Boy Beds and Sleeping Alone.....

Tonight, Riley went to bed in his big boy bed. No flaming please. He has been in our bed since Lord I don't know when. Do I think this will last? No. But it is a step in the right direction. When Riley was an infant he got sick and Riley hadn't been sleeping well (this is when Justin was still working) so Justin brought him to bed to sleep, so he could sleep too. Yes, this was 3 years ago and he is still in our bed. It became habit, comfortable for us. I really like him in our bed, it is a comfort for me, reaching over at night feeling that he is breathing, or warm enough or not feverish, etc. So I think this may be harder on me than him. In our new house, his room is upstairs and we are downstairs. This worries me too as I don't want him waking up and wandering around the house and by the stairs. Now you might say put up a gate.... Well, it would be worse to do that as he would climb the gate then bust his head falling down the stairs.

It's been one hour and 20 minutes since he fell asleep. I am sitting upstairs, waiting to see if he is going to wake up--rather when he is going to wake up.LOL...

No new pictures to speak of so I'll add another from the other day. Love to all.. Jenn
